In the spirit of Unity, we offer our dua that Allah is blessing each of you with good health and you are still excited after our first week of Muslims In Memphis Month!

However, due to the unforeseen outbreak of the Coronavirus19, each of the Imams and committee leaders have agreed that we suspend Jumu’ah, Ta’leem, and all classes at Masjid Al-Mu’minun until further notice. We are diligently working to have an online virtual Jumu’ah on tomorrow…Insha’Allah. Please go to Linda Muhammad’s facebook page to view the Jumu’ah. We pray all goes well and we thank Linda in advance for the effort. We will also be working on having it loaded to the Masjid’s web page for viewing.

As we observe as the rest of the world, the impact of the COVID-19 on the citizens of Memphis, we ask that each of us do our part to help diminish its spread by taking all precautionary methods. [Please check on our senior brothers and sisters]. The stores are running extremely low or completely out of products such as lysol spray, hand sanitizer, bleach, disinfectant sprays and even toilet tissue. Be very cautious in visiting places that have large crowds, even though one may come in contact with someone, unknowingly in a smaller gathering. Just be careful.

Additionally, as reluctant as I am to have to share this news……ALL EVENTS FOR MUSLIMS IN MEMPHIS MONTH ARE CANCELLED UNTIL 2021. For those individuals who have “paid” for tickets to the banquet, you may receive a refund. Also, if you paid for a sponsorship, you have the option to:

1] Get a full refund  2] Leave the funds there for the 2021 MIM year or 3] Request that the funds go to the carpet drive. There will be a form that you must complete to say how you want your funds handled. The logistics will be worked all and you will be apprised.

All members of I.N.A.C. sincerely thank each of you for all you did, to date, to help MIM2020 be a success. With you and your undying spirit and love, we were able to hold an exceptional successful Grand Opening. KUDOS to each of you for your support!

Moving forward, we will make every effort to keep the community abreast of our status as a Masjid on Jumu’ah, Ta’leem, Arabic classes, etc.

Until then, please be mindful of the following recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • If you have traveled please follow all governmental protocols when you return and avoid large gatherings in the Masjid as well as in the public
  • Clean your hands often by washing your hands or using hand sanitizer
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick
  • Stay home if you feel sick
  • Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily…especially your cell phones

It is my dua that this virus will lose its strength and diminish itself with as little damage as possible. Allah’s throne is over the heavens and earth and HE feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving it. We pray that Allah will grant each of us HIS Mercy and that we will be forever grateful for it. Ameen.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 901.219.1197 or any of the Imams.

Your Brother in Al-Islam,

Imam Wali Shaheed
