“The Promised Land As A Legacy and Destiny”

Where in the Qur’an is the promise of the Promised Land? Surah 24, Ayah 55 –
Allah has PROMISED, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that
He will, of a surety, grant them in the LAND, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to
those before them; that He will establish in authority their religion – the one which He
has chosen for them; and that He will change (their state), after the fear in which they
(lived), to one of security and peace: ‘They will worship Me (alone) and not associate
aught with Me. ‘ If any do reject Faith after this, they are rebellious and wicked.
The Promise is extended not tribally or racially but universally for those (whosoever) that live up to the description. The phrase “as He granted it to those before them” shows that the Promise is not just for one people one time. This is a Legacy for those who conform to the original Destiny for the human being as outlined in the earliest chapters of the Bible and Qur’an.
In the first pages of Genesis we find that Allah decreed for the human being to have DOMINION. Then Allah (SWTA) says in the Qur’an “I am making a KHALIFAH in the earth”. It’s the same G-d, the same plan, the same will, the same declaration, the same Legacy, the same Destiny.
For all the believers in revelation, the Legacy from our father Adam is the Destiny to be khalifah (masterful, deputized servant of G’d). When a person of faith becomes masterful in business, masterful in government, masterful in the educational field, or masterful in religion or the cultural arts or any of the roads of human progress, that person is fulfilling the Destiny intended for the human being from the earliest pages of the Bible and Qur’an.
When Muslims proclaimed “Roads traveled in the Promised Land: The Legacy & The Destiny” as the theme for the Muslim Journal’s A TIME TO BE GRATEFUL weekend celebration in 2014, it may have sounded like we were using Christian language. It was done, however, with full awareness that the term “Promised Land” doesn’t just belong to the Bible people alone. We KNOW that Allah’s promise of establishment in the earth is also straight Qur’anic doctrine (HQ 24: 55 ).
And we started the theme with the name MEMPHIS, saying “MEMPHIS – Roads Traveled In The Promised Land – The Legacy & The Destiny.” This also implied several more things….
~ that Memphis is where the Rev Dr Martin Luther King, the Nobel Prize-winning clergyman for whom this country has a national holiday, declared to the world in 1968 that he had seen the Promised Land;
~ that 40 years have come and gone without Dr. King’s disciples announcing that the people finally did make it to the Promised Land;
~ that the Muslims are through wandering in the wilderness of North America;
~ that we should see “L.A.N.D.” as Life According to Natural Development.
~ that we know the Straight Way leads to the Promised Land and the wilderness is for the DAAAALLeen (the Straaaaayed);
~ that the guidance of the commandments has NOT been done away with;
~ and that the Muslims will teach the people since the others won’t;
~ and that “MEMPHIS” has a new meaning for the benefit of anyone who wants to go Straight….
Every human being is M.E.M.P.H.I.S.
