The Al- Ma’un Committee will be selling food plates this Friday October 4, 2019.

The Community Affairs Committee will host a COMMUNITY YARD SALE “ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE” the first Saturday, October 5th, 2019 8:00 am- 2:00pm. Vendor fee is $5/includes 1-table. All vendors must register. Forms are available. All items not sold MUST be removed from property same day. See Sis. Community Affairs Committee presents monthly workshop for youth on the development of an Entrepreneurial Mindset in youth and awareness of Sexuality and Mental strength. Presenters are Imam Kareem Salaam and Bro. Dawud Sabir. Our Workshop is scheduled for this Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 10 am.  Future workshops are scheduled the 1st Saturday monthly.  Youth and parents are encouraged to participate.                                                                                             

There will be a Community Affairs Committee meeting this Sunday at 12 noon at the masjid.

Please submit any requests for the Community Affairs Calendar to Community Affairs via email ( ASAP, when interested in securing an event date. Wednesday COB is the deadline for same week announcements. Dates are first come/ first serve. This allows for fairness with honoring requests.  Dates will be updated into the monthly calendar and posted to inform and to avoid conflict.      

Taste of Aviation invites the public to enjoy the Memphis screenings on Friday October 4, 2019 of two eye-opening documentaries exploring the life of Bessie Coleman, the first African American woman to receive a pilot’s license. These films are especially important to Memphians because Queen Bess’ 2nd flight exhibit in the U.S.A. was on October 12, 1922 at the Negro Tri-State Fair in Memphis! FREE ADMISSION

The Annual Rainshaven Harvest Festival 2019 is scheduled for Saturday, October 26th.  This is a collaboration between law enforcement and faith based memberships. This year an addition, “Restoration Saturday”, will be added to this event, which is a partnership with the DA’s office, Shelby County, General Sessions, City Court Clerk, and others to help restore the lives of those who may need assistance with old fines, expungement, child support services, jobs and so much more. Also this year, the Amnesty Program funds will be available for delinquent traffic charges for those who qualify.

Ongoing Activities:  

Halal Food Pantry & Clothes Distribution is the last Saturday of the month. The next distribution is Saturday October 26, 2019 from 12 noon~3 p.m. Schedule to share some time and blessings with others by volunteering.

Masjid Al-Mu’minun is participating in the 100 at $50 Program to support existing Clara Muhammad schools. We are asking individual people or organizations to donate $50 per month towards the program, which will benefit a different school each month. We are asking that members donate whatever they can towards this effort, payable in the treasurer’s office today.  Our August SCMS recipient of $510 was Miami, FL.  Thank you all for recognizing “Education as a #1 Priority.”

 Al-Ma’un Committee requests du’a for all our sick or incapacitated Brothers and Sisters. Also, remember our sick with a call, du’a, Muslim Journal, or a visit!  Donations are requested for the Al-Ma’un Committee, so we may continue to support our members in their times of need.

 Masjid Al-Mu’minun Nursery needs your help to follow the Guidelines posted outside the door.  We are requesting parents check and ensure the nursery is clean before children leave.

 Please remember to support our vendors inside in the Community Vending Area and outside on the lot
